1st Himachal Sahodaya Conference

The first Himachal Sahodaya State Conference took place in La Montessori School, Kelheli Kullu (HP) on the theme, “Coping with 21st century students.”  The conference was held on the Sahodaya’s principles of facilitating synergy of ideas among schools for excellence in education i.e.  “Rising Together.”


Over 90 participants of all reputed schools of Himachal participated. President Sahodaya Mrs. Lalita Kanwar who is CBSE and President National  Awardee of 2013 and 2015 emphasized on the need of a common platform to share the current challenges in education for a better preparation for the future. The conference was attended by many distinguished guests which included Honourable D.C. Kullu, Mr. Rakesh Kanwar, Under Secretary HRD, Government of India, Mr. Rohtash Bhankhar from New Delhi and  DDHE  Mr. Jagdish.


Honorable D.C. Mr. Rakesh Kanwar gave his insight on the present education system and how children today are equipped digitally to gather instant information from around the globe. The conference further received an in-depth vision by the discussions taken up by the key speakers.


Dr Dheeraj Mehrotra, an Educational Innovator and Soft Skills Trainer spoke on the need of harnessing Information and Technology in today’s realities. Dr. Aarti Hemrajani an expert in enhancing the cognitive skills in children spoke on Student Psychology and Self Learning and Mrs. Poonamjit Kaur with her expertise on Analytical and problem-solving skills spoke on the importance of introducing Sports as a part of Life Skills in every child’s growing years.


The Panelists gave their worthy review on the discussions. The Sahodaya Conference was a success in terms of realizing its key objectives and was also an awakening towards the greater responsibility we hold as parents as well as teachers in guiding our children towards the best possible opportunities.
